Tiger Woods recently participated at the PGA Championship, making a comeback after almost a year and a half off due to a car crash. While the vet did fall a bit short during the Tournament, the entire was in awe of him- including his peers, especially second place winner Will Zalatoris.
“You’ve heard the vets say, ‘Hey, just don’t watch him, you play your own game,’ and it’s like, ‘Come on, this is the first time I get to see him really play in person and see the crowds,'” said Will Zalatoris during the Charles Schwab press conference. Zalatoris said that he felt a sort of imposter syndrome while playing against Woods at the Championship. He said that living in the moment, and playing in the moment was so hard, that Zalatoris almost he had to take a step back and understand that he had to play the best golf shot he could.

“The crowds Thursday-Friday I thought were bigger than Saturday-Sunday, at least in my groups,” he added according to people.com. “It was nuts. I played a practice round in front of him Wednesday and it was 35 people deep on [hole eight]. It was just absurd.”
Zalatoris said that seeing the crowd and the amazing golf shots that Woods played was something that he would never forget. Zalatoris eventually lost the PGA Championship to Justin Thomas, who took his second Major win of his career. Woods on the other hand retired from the Championship after 3 days due to intense pain pertaining to his accident.
