The second event of the LIV Golf Series is underway in Portland, as it faces immense backlash from protestors in the city and all throughout the world. The controversial series has created quite a split in the golf world, as tensions run high amongst the pro golfers. Abraham Ancer joined a long list of people who defected from the PGA Tour to join the LIV Series.
All defectors have been suspended from the PGA Tour, and will not be allowed to play any further tournaments of the DP World Tour. While there are many rumours circulating around the block about which golfer will be next to take the money and join the break away tour, golfer Will Zalatoris has made his agenda very clear.
“I will not be joining the LIV Golf Series”: Will Zalatoris
In a recent statement on Twitter, Zalatoris cleared the air about certain rumours that had been flying around about him recently. “There have been a lot rumors surrounding LIV golf and of specific guys potentially leaving. Now, I have begun to hear rumors that I might be going to LIV. I’d like to clear this up and say that I am fully committed to the PGA TOUR and the DP World Tour,” he said in the statement.
“I have been vocal about this since February and nothing has changed. I have dreamed of winning on the PGA TOUR and winning majors since I was a little kid. I love where the PGA TOUR and the DP World Tour and their associated tours are headed. I cannot wait for the rest of the PGA TOUR season and the Race to Dubai. See everyone in Scotland the next two weeks,” concluded Zalatoris in his statement.
