Phil Mickelson is someone who never fades away from golfing limelight. The 52-year-old can still challenge some of the best names in golf on a regular basis and has been a contender to win major tournaments for decades.

However, it is not always his golfing skills that have brought Mickelson media attention. The leftie is also known to give strong opinions from time-to-time. Once when the leftie criticized the sum of Federal tax system, he was even forced to apologize.

It all started in 2013 when California raised tax slabs by 7.9%. “If you add up all the federal and you look at the disability and the unemployment and the Social Security and the state, my tax rate’s 62, 63 percent,” Mickelson then told the press

Later, when the public expressed wild criticism, Phil Mickelson had to apologize despite well being in line with his democratic right of speech. Despite the high taxes, Mickelson’s net worth is still said to be in excess of $300 million, a figure that is only expected to increase after his recent $200 million deal with LIV golf.
