“Its a dream come true”: Scottie Scheffler wins against Kevin Kisner to become world no. 1

Scottie Scheffler recently beat Kevin Kisner at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play to take the world number 1 title. He ended the 36 week streak of Spanish golfer Jon Rahm by winning 3 tournaments in 2022.
Scheffler, who was a runner up at the tournament last year, was unmatched to the American golfer Kisner, as he took the tournament 4&3 at the Austin Country Club in Texas. “I really don’t know what to say,” said the 25 year old. Scheffler reached the final on Sunday after defeating the former number 1, Dustin Johnson.
Scheffler made a fast start in the semi finals, was three up after four holes, and five ahead after the 11th. Even though Johnson threatened his lead, Scheffler came out strong and birdied the 17th for victory.

“I’m just really pleased. It’s a tough week, a long week. I figured out my routine to keep some energy. But I’m pretty worn out right now to be honest,” said Scheffler according to bbc.com. He said that it was a dream come true to play in front of the hometown. He said that there were some good memories at the golf course.
“I’m pleased to be playing in it, and even more happy to win it,” Scheffler said. This victory made has made Scottie Scheffler a favourite to win at the Masters, which begin in April 2022.
