Croatian tennis coach Goran Ivanisevic has asked fans to be patient with him and Stefanos Tsitsipas. The duo are set to commence their partnership at the beginning of this year’s grass court season.

Ivanisevic, who previously coached Novak Djokovic, believes that the results will only come if Tsitsipas cooperates well with him. The former Wimbledon champion believes that the former Roland Garros finalist doesn’t belong to the ranking that he currently has. Ivanisevic said in an interview with Punto de Break:

I am not Harry Potter, and I will not change everything overnight with a wand. But, of course, if he works and there is cooperation as there should be, the results will come, both with me and without me. He is too good a player to be where he is, to play the way he is playing at the moment.

Ivanisevic previously coached Djokovic, with whom he won 12 Grand Slam titles between 2018 and 2023. The duo parted ways in March 2024, which started a spring of poor results for the former World No.1 Then, Ivanisevic was briefly part of Elena Rybakina‘s coaching setup. However, the duo ended their partnership after two months following the return of Rybakina’s controversial coach, Stefano Vukov.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has assured that he looks forward to coordinating with Goran Ivanisevic. The partnership of this duo is expected to begin at the start of the grass court season. He added:

He is a very honest man, which I appreciate. That’s what I needed in a coach, honesty and transparency between player and coach. I believe that with a good mindset, good work ethic, and a solid training and match structure, we can achieve great collaboration together.

The Tsitsipas-Ivanisevic partnership is one of many hyped duos that are present on the ATP Tour. Firstly, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray combined to create a hype, but it got extinguished after five months as the Serb announced that the British man won’t be his coach anymore.

Secondly, Andrey Rublev is getting coached by Marat Safin. Safin, who is a two-time Grand Slam champion, is expected to bring back the prowess of the current Russian star. Meanwhile, Tsitsipas hopes to bring back the level that made him reach two Grand Slam finals at the 2021 Roland Garros and the 2023 Australian Open. He also won the 2019 ATP Finals.

Stefanos Tsitsipas names his GOAT

Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas has sparked conversation by naming Roger Federer as the greatest male tennis player of all time. His choice stands out, especially when compared to Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, who are often part of the GOAT debate. Tsitsipas made this statement publicly, showing his strong admiration for the Swiss legend.

The topic of who deserves the title of greatest ever remains a hot issue in the tennis world. While Djokovic leads in Grand Slam titles, with more than both Nadal and Federer, Tsitsipas believes that greatness involves more than just trophies. He sees Federer’s overall impact on the sport as unmatched.

In a post shared by the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy, Tsitsipas compared Federer to basketball icon Michael Jordan. He praised Federer for shaping tennis culture and leaving a mark that extends far beyond the court. According to Tsitsipas, Federer’s influence, elegance, and style make him the standout figure in tennis history.

Tsitsipas also gave his opinion on the greatest female player of all time, naming Serena Williams. He commended her for her incredible success and for rising from modest beginnings to global fame. Her dominance and charisma, he said, make her a true icon in the sport.
