Nick Young and Tim Duncan

Former Los Angeles Lakers player Nick Young alerted the NBA World after his recent controversial take on X. The players in conversation were the legendary Shaquille O’Neal and Tim Duncan. Young posted that Duncan had a better career than O’Neal and was up to debate this with his audience. However, it did not go down well with famous comedian, Karlous Miller.

In addition, Miller left no time to troll the former NBA player on X. Karlous Miller tweeted, “How did you get CTE playing basketball?” Miller could not believe Young’s take regarding O’Neal and Duncan. This is because O’Neal is considered one of the biggest ‘Big Men’ in the NBA. Miller’s tweeted also garnered many hilarious responses.

Comparing the two stars is never an easy task for anyone. Both have been impactful in their own ways. Duncan, who is frequently regarded as the foundation of the Spurs’ dynasty, has an additional championship (5 vs. 4). Shaq had a big impact on the popularity of the game and was an imposing presence in his heyday, particularly when he was with the Lakers.

Tim Duncan was renowned for his skills, footwork, and versatility on both ends of the floor. Shaq was, in turn, the dominant physical presence in league history, able to score at will in the paint. Also, Duncan is considered the greatest power forward of all time and a shining example of professionalism and consistency. Shaq’s legacy lies more in his his athletic and physical dominance.

Nick Young ONCE made a bold take regarding Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett

Former NBA star Nick Young is not one to mince words regarding a certain topic. Interestingly, as per Young, Tim Duncan was not as good a player as Kevin Garnett. Young stated during a segment on the ‘Gil’s Arena’ show that Garnett would have won as many titles as Duncan if he had been a member of the same San Antonio Spurs team.

Yes (Kevin Garnett was a better player than Tim Duncan). Tim was great, but I feel like – just because you got accomplishments and championships doesn’t always mean you’re better than that person. To me, I feel like his team was better than the Timberwolves. If you put KG on that team, I think he’d have the same amount of rings.

Young did raise a valid argument regarding Tim Duncan’s team’s strength. Duncan enjoyed a variety of superstars as teammates in his five championship victories with the San Antonio Spurs, including Tony Parker, Kawhi Leonard, David Robinson, and Manu Ginobili. On the other hand, Garnett didn’t have a co-star who was on par with any of those players, at least not while he was with the Timberwolves.
