The co-main event between Gregor Gillespie and Brad Riddell has been called off (from UFC Vegas 22 card) due to COVID protocols, according to the UFC. Instead Song Kenan vs Max Griffin will be the co-main event. Gillespie vs Riddell will probably be booked for another date, and the fight card will proceed with 10 bouts.

The news was first reported by Marc Raimondi of ESPN, who claimed that the fight was off UFC Vegas 22’s card due to COVID protocols. Recent UFC events have been seeing a lot of fights getting cancelled at the last moment, especially due to the coronavirus.

The bout, which was scheduled as the co-main event, will be postponed to a later date

Gregor Gillespie vs. Brad Riddell is off tonight’s #UFCVegas22 card due to COVID protocols, per the UFC. The bout, which was scheduled as the co-main event, will be postponed to a later date,” Raimondi tweeted.

Gregor Gillespie (13-1) was coming off the first loss in his MMA career, against Kevin Lee at UFC 244. Having not fought in 2020, he might have to wait even longer to make his octagon return. Riddell meanwhile is on a 6 fight win streak and is currently 3-0 up in the UFC.
