Former tennis player turned consultant Guido Monaco returned to the bottle incident, which took place nearly a week earlier. He suggests that even Novak Djokovic, who took the bottle hit as a joke, could have been scared due to this.
For more context, after Djokovic won his first match at the Italian Open, the Serbian was interacting with the fans, when someone’s metal bottle slipped from their backpack and hit Djokovic on the head. It was a serious hit, which left Djokovic worried about his tennis.

After the bottle-hit incident, the Serbian lost in straight sets to Alejandro Tabilo, leaving his fans concerned for their player. Even the former tennis player reckoned that this incident would have left scars on Djokovic mind. Even though the Serbian shakes it off by jokingly wearing a helmet the next day, he must have been scared if the accident was done on purpose.
This incident caused a lot of ink to flow but he was very scared, regardless of whether it was accidental, he was really very scared. And even though he joked with the helmet the next day, it left mental scars.Said Guido Monaco via Welovetennis
Monaco even suggested another example to prove the fault of tennis security. Back in 1993, Monica Sales got stabbed with a knife. That was intentional, but in this incident, no one knows if it was done on purpose or not.
Novak Djokovic chose Rafael Nadal over himself as a favorite for the French Open
World No.1 Novak Djokovic has been having a year to forget. With no titles so far, the Serbian is struggling to find some form for the bigger events.

With the French Open happening in a couple of days, Djokovic would hope to carry some momentum forward from Geneva to Paris.
At Paris, he still considers Rafael Nadal as a strong favorite. With the Spaniard track record, he is still deadly despite not being in the best of forms.
But when you talk about Roland-Garros and Nadal is there, he is always the biggest favorite for me. After everything he has done on the courts at Roland-Garros court, it's normal, respectfully, to put him as the biggest favorite.Said Novak Djokovic via Geneva Open press
However, for now, the Serbian will play at the Geneva Open. He is set to play Yannick Hanfmann in the first round of the ATP 250. With a lot to look forward to, even the fans will tune in to the 250 to watch Djokovic in action.
