This week’s Raw featured a rugged interaction between Finn Balor and Gunther ahead of the triple threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The Ring General went off on the former Universal Champion with some brutal remarks. Following the show, the world champion had a 4-word message for The Prince.
Throughout Gunther’s appearance on Raw, his clear objective was to break Finn Balor‘s spirit ahead of their upcoming clash. Following the show, he took to X to share a few highlights, reaffirming that every word he spoke was the absolute truth. It was seemingly another attempt by the world champion to get under the skin of The Judgment Day member.
The 37-year-old star pointed out Balor’s failed attempts to reclaim his position at the top of WWE. He claimed that instead of going the extra mile to regain his main event status, Balor chose to align with The Judgment Day as a shortcut. Yet, even with the faction’s backing, he ultimately reduced himself to being nothing more than Damian Priest‘s sidekick.

Moreover, Gunther and Balor, along with Damian Priest, were involved in a brawl afterward on Raw. Surprisingly, The Judgment Day member went on to stand tall over the lifeless bodies of both The Ring General and The Punisher. As tensions rise, it will be fascinating to see how the World Heavyweight Championship picture unfolds in the coming weeks.
Gunther could be moving to SmackDown in the weeks to come
Gunther has been a top star in WWE for more than a year. After a historic Intercontinental Title run, he managed to become the World Heavyweight Champion at SummerSlam this year. However, his days on Raw could be numbered, as he is expected to be moving to Friday Night SmackDown by the end of this year.
WWE announced last week that the company would be witnessing a roster shift called the ‘WWE Transfer Window’. As a result, multiple champions are expected to switch brands, including Gunther. Fueling these speculations, the 37-year-old was also spotted on SmackDown last week, having a conversation with the GM, Nick Aldis.

Furthermore, Cody Rhodes made an appearance on Monday Night Raw, hinting at a potential champions trade. This has fueled speculation that Gunther might soon be heading to Friday nights. If the move happens, the World Heavyweight Champion will have a wealth of opportunities to explore new rivalries with the top faces of the blue brand.
