The rivalry between Gunther and Randy Orton is intensifying week by week. It even led to The Ring General getting RKO’d by The Viper on Raw. A few days ago, the newly crowned World Heavyweight Champion took to X to send a message to his opponent ahead of their match. However, it seems that wasn’t enough, as he sent another message on social media shortly after.
Gunther took to X a video clip of his promo against Randy Orton on the latest episode of Raw. He asked wrestling fans to let him know if he was wrong about anything he said to The Legend Killer. The Ring General has a habit of making personal attacks on his opponents, just like he did against Damian Priest. During their rivalry ahead of SummerSlam, he called the former champion “street trash.”
The Imperium leader insulted Orton by saying he would never be able to become a world champion again. He stated that, just like his grandfather and father, the 14-time world champion was a “screw-up” when it really mattered. However, before Orton could say or do anything, Drew McIntyre came out with a question about why The Viper was receiving title opportunities.

In a moment of distraction, Orton successfully hit Gunther with an RKO out of nowhere. Although he had the final word, the challenger understands that defeating someone like The Ring General will be a difficult task. This will be his first title defense since winning the title from Priest at SummerSlam. It will be interesting to see whether Orton manages to become a 15-time world champion.
Gunther talked about the wrestlers he connects with the most in the ring
Gunther is currently recognized as one of the top wrestlers in WWE. He already has multiple 5-star matches under his belt with stars like Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. The Ring General shared which wrestlers he felt he had the strongest in-ring connections with.
While speaking on the Busted Open Radio podcast, the 36-year-old star stated that Ilja Dragunov was one of the guys who brought the best out of him. Many fans have seen their hard-hitting classic matches in NXT UK for the title. However, in WWE, Gunther mentioned Sheamus because of his fearless attitude.

I have a few guys I really click with, and kind of in a different way bring it out of me, but Sheamus is definitely one that in WWE, I was like, ‘That’s the match you need to have first,’ because that guy, he doesn’t care. He said that The Celtic Warrior is the type of wrestler who doesn’t hold back and dives straight into the fight. The Ring General and Sheamus have been involved in many incredible matches, but two of them stand out even more. Their match at Clash at the Castle two years ago was a five-star classic. Interestingly, the veteran has yet to win a match against the World Heavyweight Champion.
