TalkSPORT television presenter Jim White was devastated after his home nation Scotland’s group-stage exit from the 2024 Euros. Hungary defeated Scotland 1-0 in the last group-stage game.

The Tartan Army came into the 2024 Euros in Germany, as potential underdogs, and were tipped to at least reach the knock-out stages of the tournament. But a crushing 5-1 defeat to the host nation and a draw against Switzerland left them needing a win in their final group-stage match for a spot in the Round of 16. The match against Scotland was a highly tense one, but the Hungarians emerged victorious with a brilliant goal in the dying minutes.

This defeat marked their second consecutive group stage exit from the Euros, after failing to qualify in 2020. Owing to this disastrous loss, a disheartened Jim White was left with his head in his heads and slumped to his knees. White’s TalkSPORT co-host Simon Jordan captured the moment on camera, later turning it to reveal his own beaming smile after the Tartan Army’s elimination. It was truly an agonizing night for the national team in Germany.

Additionally, serious questions arose about the quality of Andrew Robertson-led Scotland before heading into the tournament. The Tartan Army disappointingly ended their Group A campaign in fourth position, after securing just one point in their three games.
