The two-time defending Super Bowl champions are again ruling the NFL as they made a successful start to the 2024 season with back-to-back victories. However, just because the team has been fabulous doesn’t mean all of its players have been at their topmost game.

The Kansas City Chiefs are best known for doing more with less as they did last season by winning their fourth Vince Lombardi Trophy despite having one of the worst receiving corps in the league. This time, that has been the star tight end Travis Kelce because of his slow individual stats with four receptions for 39 yards in the last two games.

Despite earning the highest-paid tight-end deal this offseason, Kelce hasn’t been able to play at that standard. And he is very well aware of that as he opened up about it in the latest edition of his famous podcast, New Heights

I put that on me. I didn't play my best, and it spreads if you don't fix it and I've got to get that thing fixed.

His individual stats in the last two games have shaken many. Given, that he is counted among the most prolific pass-catching tight ends in the history of the NFL. Last season, he compensated for the lack of potent receivers and logged his third consecutive season exceeding the 1,000-yard mark.

Travis Kelce determined to improve after inadequate performance

Instead of wallowing over his inadequate performance, the nine-time Pro Bowler shared his plans to be better and work on his game. He is assessing his performance to determine what exactly is going wrong with him and starts working on getting better.

I'm not going to sit here and get frustrated about it. I used to get really, really pissed off and almost lose my cool a lot of the time for not having that success, knowing that I demand that out of myself. I just like to play the game to such a high level that it's tough for me to deal with being mediocre or having stats that represent that.
