In a recent video of “Beyond Gold with Simone Biles” by Axonius, the great gymnast talks about her journey right from the beginning to where she is now. Describing her life as a “controlled chaos”, she talked about herself as a person.

For Simone, she found her passion at the age of 6. Everything in her pointed towards her being a great gymnast. She not only had the body-build but also the talent as well as the passion to be competitive. When she made her first World Championship team at the age of 15 she realised her true potential and what she could actually do.

Who is the actual person Simone Biles?

However, not many people know who the actual Simone is. “I think one of the main things that get misconstrued is that we are really hard people. I mean in our sport we do have to be, but at the end of the day I have bills to pay, I also cry. I have a normal life but I do amazing things. I still have feelings.”

Simone said that when she goes into training she has to take with her a lot of positive and good thoughts. She need to protect mental health and well being especially as she trains 7 hours a day for six days a week.

Talking about the negativity or the challenges that surround Biles, she said, “I tend to get very overwhelmed with things. Therefore I follow the principle of out of sight, out of mind- and ignore a lot of thing around me.” She said that she surrounds herself with positive people, and also gave a shout out to her agent, saying that these people let her refine her craft.

She said that the Olympics dream was not only hers but also her entire family’s. Biles mentioned how her parents, her siblings and even her nanny would drive her to practice and show up for competitions so that they could see her excel in the field of gymnastics. So for Biles, family means the entire world to her. “Those are my comfort people. Those are the people I look to for the good and the bad.”

Her fame however, was a really big change for her to get used to. She used her voice for the greater good, even though it was very scary for her. She brought into light the foster community and of course mental health, and has tried to give back in every way possible. For Biles, the core values of Axonius matched with hers and therefore she chose to partner with the company.
