Haason Reddick swept through all the harsh criticism directed at him for holding out under the rug when he agreed on a new deal. He also responded to Bill Belichick’s sharp comments after the New York Jets lost to the New England Patriots on Sunday.

Following the loss, the Jets sit bottom of the AFC East with a 2-6 record, with playoffs slowly slipping away. Football pundits launched copious amounts of criticism aimed at not only Aaron Rodgers but the entire Jets organization, including owner Woody Johnson, for firing Robert Saleh mid-season.

Jets players have been critical of their performance. However, hardly anyone expected Haason Reddick to stick for the Jets after the fiasco he created regarding his contract. Yet, the edge rusher’s the first person to fire back at former Patriots head coach and now freelance pundit Bill Belichick for his statement.

Reddick shared a tweet on Monday that caught the eye of the Jets faithful. In the tweet, he suggested that a team should hire Belichick, and that way he will stop talking about the Jets.

Aye someone call Bill Belichick and give him a job. Seems like he’s home bored and can’t keep me out of his mouth.

What did Bill Belichick say about the Jets that ticked Haason Reddick off?

Belichick, as the Patriots head coach, faced the Jets 49 times and beat them on 37 occasions. So he knows a thing or two about how the organization conducts its business.

Following the Jets’ loss against his former side, now managed by Jerod Mayo, Belichick highlighted the mistakes. He specifically pointed out Reddick’s pass-rushing failures in the limited time he was on the pitch during his debut.

A lot of mistakes by the Jets, and that ended up killing them at the end with Jacoby’s scrambles. [Haason] Reddick came in the game and just ran by the quarterback multiple times, creating those scramble lanes that the Patriots took advantage of.

Bill Belichick said during Monday morning broadcast of the Pat McAfee Show

Reddick played 26 snaps but failed to register a single hit on Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who replaced rookie Drake Maye after he suffered a concussion. Given that it was the veteran Pro Bowler’s first game in months, there was bound to be rust in his locker. However, he did not like it being pointed out to him.

The Jets have nine games remaining until the season ends and have the daunting task of winning at least eight of them. If they don’t pucker up now, then they can kiss the playoffs goodbye.
