Hailie Deegan blames lack of “deep pockets” for end of her NASCAR career
Ex-NASCAR driver Hailie Deegan has shared his feelings about how her stock car racing career came to an end, ahead of open wheel racing move.

Coming into the 2024 season, Hailie Deegan was expected to re-established herself as one of the best female racers of the decade following three average years in Truck Series. She got the much awaited the Xfinity Series opportunity with AM Racing. But things didn’t get as planned, after she was forced part ways with the team mid-way to the season owing to poor performance.
Hailie Deegan has now made a serious change to her career, as she is set to make her IndyNXT debut with HMD Motorsports. In a recent interview with AP, Deegan revealed how it’s tough for her make a comeback owing to the lack of financial support. She joked that she isn’t actively looking for seat unless a couple million dollars falls in her lap.
Further talking about the point, he pointed out that many in the fans doesn’t realize how much it costs to race even in the Xfinity Series. She pointed out that it costs $6 million, to race for a quality Xfinity team and at the time she doesn’t have that luxury.

The upcoming season is going to be a tough challenge for Deegan, as she is not only making her open wheel racing debut and has the pressure re-establishing her racing career. Talking about her goals for 2025, she admitted that she hasn’t set any as she wants to first experience how the races play out.
