Next Danica Patrick? Hailie Deegan lands 2025 Indy NXT series seat after NASCAR sacking
Ex-NASCAR racer Hailie Deegan is set to follow Danica Patrick and get into IndyCar series, so as the first step will drive in the Indy NXT series in 2025.

The 2024 NASCAR season marked one of the worst year female racing star Hailie Deegan has had in his career. She came into the season with the hopes of rejuvenating her career in the second tier of NASCAR, that was stagnated in the three years in the third tier, Truck Series with DGR and ThorSports.
Hailie Deegan’s times in the second tier with AM Racing was disappointing to say the least. Her best finish, before the decided to part ways after the 17th race week of the season, was a P12 that came at Talladega. Though AMR wasn’t a frontrunner, they were serious contenders for top-10s and Deegan was able to never match the expectations.

After the disappointing end to her stock car racing career, she is looking to make a comeback in the Open wheel racing. She has is set to race in the second tier of the IndyCar, the Indy NXT series, with HMD Motorsports. She is set to drive their No:38 entry for the whole 14 race season in 2025. Deegan might be able build a career like that of Danica Patrick, who is the only woman to win an IndyCar race.
She joined at HMD by four more drivers, aiming to make it in IndyCar, in Caio Collet, Josh Pierson, Tommy Smith, and Bryce Aron. It is a massive challenge for the 23-year racer, as she has never raced in an open wheel series before in her career. But if she is ever to make the switch, doing it now is the right choice.
Hailie Deegan is excited about the new venture
While talking about her new undertaking, Deegan pointed out that she is really excited about the new venture. She is ready for the challenges and the things she has to learn, due to her in-experience, in the coming days before making the race debut next-march at St. Petersburg.
She will have the first opportunity prove herself in the upcoming event at Chris Griffis Test on October 18, with fellow rookies. Deegan will be hoping to prove her worth to the racing community yet again with the IndyCar move and build a career for herself.
