Rising Serbian tennis star Hamad Medjedovic has picked Novak Djokovic as his favorite to win the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.

Djokovic is currently on a comeback trail, having undergone knee surgery after picking up an injury at the French Open. Defying all odds, he arrived in Wimbledon and began practicing ahead of the grass Major.

Like most people, Medjedovic has also been left stunned by the rapid nature of Djokovic’s recovery. The 20-year-old said that he had no words for the way his compatriot had bounced back after going under the knife. He disclosed that he has been in touch with the former World No. 1 after his surgery.

This is out of this world. I think Novak is just something else. The way his body heals is insane. He had a surgery two or three weeks ago. Now he’s here practicing. He’s from another planet. We’ve talked after his surgery. I was checking on him. He wants to play. Most likely he’s fit since he came here. I really wish him to be healthy and fit. I hope that we get to see him play this year at Wimbledon.

While Djokovic has begun training at Wimbledon, he is yet to confirm his participation in the tournament.

Besides stating that Novak Djokovic will compete at Wimbledon, Hamad Medjedovic also backed his compatriot to win his eighth title at SW19. He stated that the 37-year-old being present att he All England Club is proof that he was fit and healthy to compete. 

For sure. If he’s fit and healthy, which I believe he is, because he came here, he is in my opinion the biggest favorite to be the champion.

Djokovic recently stated that he would take part in the tournament only if he was confident of mounting a title challenge. He also said that while he was happy about his progress so far, he vowed not to push his body to reach 100% fitness.
