Barcelona manager Hansi Flick received a hilarious request from a fan, urging him to sell ageing forward Robert Lewandowski during the transfer window. It comes amid reports that the club is looking for a replacement for the 36-year-old veteran striker.
Robert Lewandowski has been a key player for Barcelona under Hansi Flick this season, scoring an impressive 25 goals in 26 appearances. The 36-year-old has seen a turnaround in form following Flick’s arrival, after criticism for his poor goal-scoring abilities. However, the Polish forward is going through a rough patch over the past few weeks, having scored just thrice in his last seven matches.
He is also being substituted off more often, struggling to maintain the required level of intensity for the whole match. It simply points to the fact that Robert Lewandowski is way past his prime at Barcelona. Manager Hansi Flick, who was taking some time off following the club’s recent Supercopa de Espana semi-final victory, received a strange request from a fan regarding the forward.

The German manager was visiting a local cafe in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In a viral social media clip, a fan decided to approach Flick for a chat. He offered some unsolicited advice to the German manager, urging him to find a new striker for the club and sell Robert Lewandowski. The former Bayern Munich boss responded to the fan’s request with a hilarious gig.
Lewandowski’s sale would surely help Barcelona cut down on its massive wage bill. He is the club’s highest earner with a weekly wage of around €600,000. The club is reportedly looking for potential successors, with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak being one of the front-runners.
Robert Lewandowski to play Supercopa de Espana final after overcoming leg discomfort
FC Barcelona will have striker Robert Lewandowski available for the upcoming Supercopa de Espana final against Real Madrid. The finals matchup will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The 36-year-old overcame a minor leg discomfort to get ready for the El Clasico.
Lewandowski was substituted off in the final minutes of Barca’s 2-0 semi-final win over Athletic Club. The Polish star was seen limping off the pitch, as he showed signs of visible discomfort in his legs. However, the club later claimed that the issue was not a serious one. The Polish striker also returned to full training with the team after a short recovery session.
Barcelona and manager Hansi Flick will eye their first trophy of the season, and will heavily rely on Lewandowski’s offensive impact. The club has also received a boost in Lamine Yamal’s return from injury, along with Dani Olmo and Pau Victor’s successful registration.
