Travis Head and Mohammed Siraj were engaged in a heated altercation in the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 at the Adelaide Oval. The incident happened when Siraj dismissed Head by bowling a yorker and castling his stumps in the second innings. The Australian batter said that he had praised Siraj for the delivery but was very unsatisfied with Siraj’s reaction. However, the Indian pacer refuted Head’s claims.
ICC punished both Head and Siraj for breaching the code of conduct. Head escaped a fine but was sanctioned. Siraj was fined 20% of his match fees and also earned a demerit point. Now, former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has talked about the incident. He feels that ICC is very strict on the players, as these types of incidents are common on the ground due to the heat of the moment.
Head scored 140 runs off 141 balls in the first innings of the game and took the match away from India’s grasp. He earned the Player of the Match award for his innings at the Adelaide Oval and was largely responsible for Australia winning the game by 10 wickets in the match and leveling the series 1-1.

Siraj gave an aggressive send-off to Head and was fined for that, but Head escaped a penalty. India suffered yet another batting collapse at the Adelaide Oval. They scored 180 runs in the first innings and were dismissed for 175 runs in the second innings. Riding on Head’s innings, Australia scored 337 runs in the first innings and chased down 19 runs in the second innings without losing any wickets.
