Former India off spinner, Harbhajan Singh, has lashed out at a Pakistan fan who tried to troll Irfan Pathan with a fake video concerning Babar Azam. The Pakistan fan posted a video of Azam walking by the side of the boundary. The fan captioned it that Pathan was asking Azam for an interview and Azam rejected it.

Singh slammed the Pakistan fan and questioned the words that he used. He also took a silent dig at Azam for his inability to speak English.

Where is Irfan Pathan in this video? First you don't have the decency to speak. Now your eyes have stopped seeing as well?

Pakistan performed very poorly in the ODI World Cup 2023 in India

Amidst all these political issues, Pakistan came to India to participate in the ODI World Cup 2023. They played their matches in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru and faced off against India in Ahmedabad. They were knocked out of the group stage after managing to win just 4 games in the tournament.

After the ODI World Cup 2023, Azam was sacked from all-format captaincy but ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, he was reinstated as the captain of the white-ball side. Pakistan suffered defeats against USA and India and were knocked out of the group stage yet again.

Meanwhile, India won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 without losing any game. However, there is a controversy surrounding India’s participation in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy in 2025. India have not traveled to Pakistan since 2006 due to security issues and don’t plan to travel to Pakistan for the Champions trophy as well. They want a hybrid model in which India’s matches will be played in Sri Lanka or UAE.

However, the PCB don’t want to grant the hybrid model to India this time around. India also did not travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. They played their matches as part of the hybrid model in Sri Lanka and the final was also held in Colombo as they beat Sri Lanka to win the tournament.
