The No Strings Attached and Just Married actor and early 2000s heartthrob, Ashton Kutcher, loves the Chicago Bears so much that he wanted to name his son after his team. Unfortunately for Kutcher, his wife and his co-star in the hit show That ’70s Show, Mila Kunis, wasn’t having any of it.
Speaking on the Rich Eisen Show, Kutcher opened up about his love for the Bears amid the team’s first playoff game in four seasons. This really funny anecdote about how his son’s name came about was revealed during a conversation about where the Windy City-native was watching the Wild Card game between the Bears and the Green Bay Packers.
Kutcher admitted that while he was planning to attend the game in person, he had a scheduling conflict with the Golden Globes. Seems like the Golden Globes are quite the significant scheduling impediment. Kutcher had previously promised his wife that he would join her for the Golden Globes on Sunday. Though the game was on Saturday, Kutcher non-verbally told the panel that travelling from Chicago to Los Angeles on Sunday with another commitment in New York on Monday would be quite the task.
As the conversation rolled on, Kunis being understanding about her husband’s love for the Bears, Rich Eisen said that they had named his son Bear. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis had their second son nine years ago and named him Dimitri Portwood. Where did Bear come in? It’s apparently his nickname.
Kutcher wanted to name him Bear, but Kunis thought it would be weird to see a Doctor Bear if he grew up to be one. Cheekily, the film star stated that the Bear tag was not for the Bears but Bear Bryant. After Kutcher’s name suggestion fell off, the now-canceled couple planned for Barett, which they dropped after learning that there was a similarly named individual who wasn’t a good person. Anyhow, Dimitri is now nine and a Bears fan like his dad.
And for Kutcher and the countless Bears’ fans, it was a night to remember. Caleb Williams and his squad demolished the Packers and secured their first playoff win in fifteen years.
The Chicago Bears face a surging Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round
After a dominating win over the Green Bay Packers, the Chicago Bears face the Los Angeles Rams in their first divisional game since 2006. The Los Angeles Rams had defeated the Carolina Panthers in a close contest to advance to the divisional.

The clash will take place at the Bears’ home in Soldier Field, Chicago, on Sunday, January 18, 2026, with kickoff slated for 5:30 p.m. CT on NBC. The Bears, as the divisional winners of the NFC North, hold the home-field advantage and will enjoy its full benefits on Sunday. The Windy City is expected to be bitterly cold with temperatures dropping as low as 8 degrees and a 55% chance of precipitation.
The Rams, being a warm-weather franchise, will be on the back foot, especially given that their star quarterback, Matthew Stafford, has historically struggled in colder weather. In addition to the cold situation, Stafford is also nursing an injury on the index finger of his throwing hand.
The Bears overcame a huge deficit and came back in the fourth quarter against the Green Bay Packers. It is not the first time Ben Johnson has led this team to a comeback win this season; it’s not even the second or third time.
Guess what? It’s the seventh time. Doing it seven times revealed that the Bears aren’t a team that gives up easily. If the opponents stat pad the game in the first three quarters, they can’t be written off. The grit of the team and the confidence in each other in that locker room could easily be what lands them a championship after all these years.
