“Harden is my friend, but I let the front office decide”: Kevin Durant denies tempering charges to lure Harden to Nets
James Harden and Kevin Durant

Houston Rocket’s James Harden was being rumoured to leave the franchise to pair up with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving for the Brooklyn Nets. But those have not been turned into something materialistic. There were reports that Harden’s former OKC teammate was trying to bring him into the Nets, but the latter denies all these charges.
The Nets would have had to give up a lot for that trade, but it would have guaranteed titles. There are concerns about how Harden and Irving would share the ball, but it would only be a matter of time when that is resolved.
Anyone could make up stories and write about them: Kevin Durant
“I don’t know where you’re making these stories up, that me and James talked about any of this at a workout. I don’t know where that came from,” Durant said as per Essentially Sports. “James is a friend of mine, but I let the front office handle all of that stuff. I was just so focused on working out.”
He added that he heard about the stories, but he never bothered about it, and neither did his teammates.
“I heard all the noise that James potentially wanted to come to the Nets,” he said. “But anyone can make up stories, anyone can write a story, and it gets some traction. Nothing’s ever set-in stone until it’s set-in stone, so I’ve never thought too much about it, just focused on myself. And my teammates probably did the same thing, and we just move forward.”
But according to Nets Daily, “talks never progressed” between the two teams, which have put these trade rumors to bed. So, a team-up between Durant and Harden might not happen anytime soon.
Having said that the Beard rejected a $50 million contract extension from the Rockets to show he wants out. But it looks like he will have to stay in Houston reluctantly since he still has two more guaranteed years left on his contract.
