All-rounder Hardik Pandya turned out to be India’s new match-winner in limited-overs cricket during the ongoing series against Australia. After his yet another heroics in the last T20I, everyone started praising him for his maturity and game sense. 

Cricket experts from all over suddenly started talking about Hardik Pandya as India’s find to solve their middle-order vows. Former England skipper Michael Vaughan also lauded the 27-year old for his finishing skills during the second 20-over match at the SCG. The Englishman said that Pandya could be the next global cricket superstar after MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.

“MS Dhoni, he had that mantle for many years. Virat Kohli has it now. It’s generally the Indian players that get put onto that pedestal, and I think Hardik’s got a chance to be the next superstar,” Vaughan told Cricbuzz.

Hardik Pandya played extremely well for Mumbai Indians during the recently-concluded IPL edition in the UAE. He won several matches for his side, batting at the death overs. He didn’t stop there as Pandya continued with his tremendous run at the ODI series against Australia too.   

The Surat-born emerged as the highest run-scorer for the team in the 50-over format, amassing 210 runs in three games. Currently, he is ruling in the T20Is after his scintillating knock of 42* runs off just 22 deliveries in the last encounter. 

Michael Vaughan feels that Hardik Pandya must target the next three years for his consistent performance. With several much-anticipated tournaments lined up in India till 2023, Hardik could be the key for his team.

“He has to look at the next three years. With the next T20 world cup being in India, obviously, the IPL being in India, the next 50-over World Cup is in India in 2023, Hardik Pandya has got a great opportunity to become the next global superstar.”
