The Kansas City Chiefs stumbled as the Philadelphia Eagles cruised towards an easy win to lift their second Super Bowl. The Eagles humiliated the Chiefs 40-22 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. It was a hard night for most of them including Patrick Mahomes who left without a word. Meanwhile, kicker Harrison Butker had logistical havoc adding to his misery on Sunday night.
According to Daily Mail reporter Daniel Matthews, Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker fell victim to theft after Super Bowl LIX. Butker, who had arrived at the stadium wearing a suit, stepped out of the shower only to discover that his belongings had disappeared.
While game-worn jerseys are frequently targeted due to their high value, the theft of a full suit is highly unusual. Reports suggest that Butker suspects the thieves may have mistakenly believed his belongings belonged to his teammate, Patrick Mahomes.

Overall, it was a very unfortunate night for the player. Harrison Butker never came on to the scene as the Kansas City Chiefs offense could get enough time to set up field goal opportunities. In 2024, Butker played 13 games, scoring 92 points combined with 21 field goals and 29 extra point conversions. He missed only six times, four FGs and two EP. In postseason, he contributed 11 points against the Houston Texans and six points against the Buffalo Bills.
Harrison Butker heads into the offseason as the league’s highest paid kicker
In August 2024, The Kansas City Chiefs solidified their special teams by signing kicker Harrison Butker to a lucrative contract extension, making him the highest-paid kicker in NFL history. According to sources cited by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal spans four years and is valued at $25.6 million, with $17.75 million guaranteed.

This extension ensures Butker remains with the Chiefs through the 2028 season. He could enjoy a peaceful offseason if he doesn’t stumble upon any troubles like last year’s commencement speech at the Benedictine College.
With an average annual salary of $6.4 million, Butker surpassed the league’s previously highest-paid kickers, the Baltimore Ravens’ Justin Tucker and the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jake Elliott, who both earn $6 million per season.
Butker was initially set to make $3.945 million in the final year of the five-year contract he signed in 2019. However, his consistent performance, including clutch kicks in high-pressure situations, made him a priority for the Chiefs’ front office.
Since joining Kansas City, Butker has been a key contributor, helping the team secure multiple playoff victories and Super Bowl appearances. He was a part of his three Super Bowls and even the harsh loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a few years ago.
