The Kansas City Chiefs may not have won the Super Bowl this year but one of their players managed to secure a White House visit before the reigning champions got an invite. Kicker Harrison Butker visited President Donald Trump in the White House on Thursday.

The kicker who has been the subject of controversy after delivering a controversial address at Benedictine College met the President in the Oval Office and exchanged a pleasant conversation with him. It was not surprising to see the White House facilitate a meeting between the two.

This is because Harrison Butker took multiple shots at former President Joe Biden and his regime in his speech. He called the Democratic President out for his leadership and promoting anti-Catholic values. After he was publicly crucified, especially by women for some of the views he shared, Butker doubled down and defended his beliefs.

In the run-up to the elections, Harrison Butker vouched for Donald Trump to win. He formed a conservative political action committee with the objective of urging fellow Christians to step up and vote for Trump.

The kicker went on to meet Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. She posted a picture posing alongside him in the media room and captioned it, “You never know who you’re going to see at the White House! Great meeting Harrison Butker today!”

The President appreciated his visit as per a White House official. “The President couldn’t have been happier to say hello.” Over the past year, Butker has not held back while sharing his thoughts on his political and religious beliefs.

The kicker went on to take the stage at the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast held on the 27th and 28th of February. Harrison Butker endorsed President Trump due to his pro-life stance. The subject is close to his heart.

“I think Donald Trump is the most pro-life president. That’s a topic that is the most crucial topic for me. I want us to be fighting for the most vulnerable, fighting for the unborn, and that’s what we should prioritize,” he had stated while justifying his support for the Republican candidate.

While the kicker has met the President before the new Super Bowl champions visited him, the White House hopes to host the Philadelphia Eagles shortly. They are yet to send an invite to the team. In 2018 after the team won its first Super Bowl, their invite to meet President Trump was rescinded by the White House after reports surfaced that multiple players intended to skip the visit because of his stance against kneeling during the national anthem. This year, however, Philly is likely to accept the invite.
