Bayern Munich striker and England captain Harry Kane has had a season to remember. The 30-year-old marksman played his last game of club football against Real Madrid in their heartbreaking exit from the Champions League back in May. However, he missed the final two games of the Bundesliga season owing to a back injury he picked up in training.
While many feared for the player’s availability for the upcoming Euros, boss Gareth Southgate assured that the player will be 100% fit for the tournament. Speaking on the same, Kane opined that the injury came at a fortunate time, thereby allowing him to get some much needed rest ahead of the high stakes tournament in Germany.

The forward also assured that he’ll get a few minutes in against Iceland – the final warm-up game prior to the upcoming Euros.

In a heavily mixed up starting XI, Southgate kept Harry Kane on the bench. Ollie Watkins took the striker’s place in the match, before being subbed off for the No.9 in the 62nd minute.
Cole Palmer opened the scoring for England in the 60th minute from an expertly finished penalty kick. England cemented their lead through Trent Alexander-Arnold before Kane gave the killer blow after coming on.
Kane scored in his first start in over two weeks, after sitting out the last two games of the Bundesliga season. In a recent interview, Kane assured that he’ll be fit in time for the Euros, while also confirming that he’ll receive minutes in the upcoming game against Iceland. With the goal on Monday night, Kane is now on 63 international goals, which is one more than what the legendary Ronaldo Nazario has managed.
