England were awarded a contentious penalty in the 18th minute, prompting debate among pundits at halftime. The VAR recommended an on-field review after Denzel Dumfries fouled Kane, resulting in the penalty decision. Kane supported the referee’s call in his post-match remarks, claiming that he experienced pain in his foot from the challenge, describing it as a strong tackle.

My foot was hanging off so he definitely caught me! Sometimes you get them, sometimes you don't. I was happy to step up and see that go in the back of the net.
