There aren’t many better role models than Cristiano Ronaldo on the international stage. The Portuguese legend recently hit 900 career goals, and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. Several players across the globe idolize the Al-Nassr man, with England’s all-time top scorer Harry Kane being one of them.

Recently, the Bayern Munich striker outlined why he looks at the Portuguese for ‘inspiration’. Kane will become the tenth player in The Three Lions’ history to reach the 100 cap mark after the likes of Wayne Rooney, David Beckham and Frank Lampard.

He (Ronaldo) was someone I looked up to when I was growing up. The ability to prove people wrong and prove to yourself that you're the best version of yourself, to play until the age he is, it's really inspiring.

England won their first game of the Nations League campaign against Ireland. Their final game before the close of the international break is against Finland, with manager Lee Carsley keen to ‘mix things up’ for the upcoming game.

Sometimes it's really hard for it to sink in when you're playing, but I'm extremely proud of this. When I'm retired, I'll look back on this moment with immense pride.
