The Three Lions suffered another defeat in a final, marking their second consecutive Euro final loss following the 2020 defeat to Italy. This prolonged their wait for a major trophy, which they haven’t won since the 1966 World Cup. Nico Williams scored for Spain in the 47th minute, but Cole Palmer equalized in the 73rd minute, just three minutes after being substituted in. Mikel Oyarzabal then netted the decisive goal, securing Spain’s fourth Euro title.

Meanwhile, Three Lions skipper Harry Kane was cut into a sorry figure, managing just 12 touches and one shot, during the opening 45 minutes. His lackluster display prompted fans to call for him to be taken off.
