England rose from their ruins in Veltins-Arena after they avoided an almighty scare to their run at the 2024 Euros. Gareth Southgate‘s men were on the verge of being eliminated by 45th ranked Slovakia when Jude Bellingham intervened in the final minutes of the game. The 21-year-old’s unbelievable bicycle kick saved England and forced the game into extra-time.
England went on to win the game 2-1 thanks to a goal from captain Harry Kane, although many fans still remain unconvinced of their ability to impress. Bellingham’s miraculous goal couldn’t have come at a better moment. Even Kane wanted to get in on the celebrations as the captain was seen asking Bellingham to do his celebration again. In a heartwarming moment, Kane and Bellingham both faced the crowd with outstretched hands, mimicking the latter’s celebration.
Following the win, England booked their spot in the quarterfinals, where they will take on Switzerland. The men in red are a force to reckon with, having already eliminated reigning champions Italy by two goals to none.

Even though England have largely disappointed at the 2024 Euros, it remains to be seen whether Southgate’s men can finally make things work for them.
Harry Kane header earns England win over resolute Slovakia
England saved the best for the very end against Slovakia! The men in white were trailing for the majority of the game, having conceded an early goal in the 25th minute, owing to a defensive error from Kyle Walker. Despite their incessant efforts, The Three Lions failed to put the ball in the opposition net, up until the 95th minute.
In a last ditch attempt, a long throw-in from Walker ended up in the net thanks to an unbelievable overhead kick from Jude Bellingham. However, the job wasn’t done yet, as the game went into extra-time. Surprisingly, England managed to find the winner early on, with Harry Kane finally coming through on the night.
As if to make up for the multiple chances missed in normal time, Kane forced the ball into the net through a header from close range. The Bayern Munich man is now on two goals at the Euros. With the turnaround complete, England finally managed to breathe a sigh of relief. Despite boasting the likes of Kane, Bellingham, Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka, fans found it difficult to understand how The Three Lions are struggling in front of goal.
