Coaching in the NBA is a tough job. It takes a lot of efforts and sacrifices for a head coach to adapt to his team in order to get positive results. Coaches like Steve Kerr, Gregg Popovich and Pat Riley were all known for their great regimes. These legendary coaches had only one goal in mind: winning championships and ensuring every player performs at their best.

Recently, former NBA star Patrick Beverley shared insights on the challenges faced by NBA coaches and superstars. On his podcast, Beverley discussed how many NBA superstars are intimidated by their head coaches. He noted that some players are reluctant to embrace coaching, and when a championship-winning coach joins a team, high expectations accompany the role.

It's a lot of players scared of head coaching, a lot of superstars, some motherfu***s don't want to be coached around, you understand when you a coach, especially a coach that won and you come to a team where motherfu***s that ain't won before I don't have to listen to you motherfu***s man, I won y'all haven't and with coaching come it ain't you'd be wondering like man, why this coach didn't come here, yeah that superstar scared of that motherfu***s."

Throughout his career, Beverley has been released by several teams and played under various NBA coaches. Despite his fiery personality, Pat Bev is regarded as one of the most coachable stars in the league.

Many coaches sought Beverley for his defensive approach to the game. Known as one of the peskiest defenders in the league, he brought great energy to his teams and was recognized for being very vocal on the court.

Patrick Beverly draws parallels between JJ Redick and Eric Spoelstra

The Los Angeles Lakers made one of the most significant moves this off season. They appointed JJ Redick as the new head coach of the team. The decision faced a lot of backlash from NBA fans and as Redick has zero coaching experience in pro level. Many fans even stated that Redick got the job just because he had a podcast with LeBron James.

On the OG’s Podcast, Patrick Beverly talked about JJ Redick becoming the head coach of the Lakers. Speaking to Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller, Beverly drew parallels between Miami Heat head coach Eric Spoelstra and Redick. Bev stated that Redick is a ‘firm’ guy, and he will certainly have no room for any errors. Beverly even stated that a firm coach is a successful coach.

I think he's firm. And if you're firm as a coach, you have success. That's how Spo was. I'm not comparing JJ Redick to Spo, I am not doing that. But Spo was firm, in the way Spo talked to me, he talked to Bron [LeBron James] the same way. So I couldn't even have no room for error like that. I witness him saying the same thing to D-Wade and the same thing to Bron. A firm coach in the NBA is a successful coach.

Eric Spoelstra is one of the most hard-working coaches in the NBA. His ‘Heat Culture’ has been the perfect recipe of success for the Miami Heat. Redick, too, will be having a lot of expectations and will be aiming to make the Lakers a championship team.
