The kind of competitive attitude I like to play cricket with on the field is very similar to Australia’s. It was my father’s dream that I play a Test against England sometime at Lord’s, but I personally like Australia more. I am proud of myself, that my name came up for this tour.

Harshit Rana told ESPNCricinfo.

Rana went on to say that when his name was announced in the squad for the BGT, it was at that moment he came to know about his inclusion. However, he had the feeling that he would be travelling to Australia, given that he was practicing with the main squad.

Harshit Rana has earned his maiden call-up in the Indian Test squad

Rana has earned his maiden Test call up with his inclusion in the Indian squad for the BGT 2024/25. The pacer is quite handy with the bat as well, and hence, is considered a fast-bowling all-rounder. India needs fast bowling all-rounders in Australia and have Rana with Nitish Kumar Reddy in the squad.

Meanwhile, the five match Test series against Australia will start on November 22 in Perth. India have lost a Test series at home after 12 years as they suffered a 2-0 defeat against New Zealand with one match still to play in Mumbai.
