- Emmanuel Acho's podcast, Speakeasy, denied claims of offering Dianna Russini a job amid ongoing controversy.
- Dianna Russini is under investigation by The Athletic regarding her interactions with NFL coach Mike Vrabel.
- Acho claims to be the "foremost expert" on the Vrabel-Russini situation, suggesting a private investigator was involved.
The thin line separating fact from fiction in modern-day journalism is fading a lot quicker than most can imagine. For instance, Football Crave, a very popular X account that covers a wide range of sports news, posted that Emmanuel Acho is ready to offer controversial NFL insider/reporter Dianna Russini a job on Speakeasy.
More than 180,000 X users viewed the post in the first 17 hours of its existence. And after reading some of the comments, it became very clear that most of them believed the information.
However, the official account of Acho’s show, Speakeasy, flagged Football Crave’s post for spreading falsified information.

Russini is indeed undergoing an investigation by The Athletic (The New York Times) to uncover the truth behind the photos that showed her hugging and spending time with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel. Until then, Russini has been sidelined indefinitely, although The Athletic’s executive editor, Steven Ginsberg, initially supported his colleague.
These photos are misleading and lack essential context. These were public interactions in front of many people. Dianna is a premier journalist covering the NFL, and we’re proud to have her at The Athletic.
Steven Ginsberg said (H/T: ESPN)
After carefully viewing the photos, Acho concluded that a private investigator may have been hired to take pictures of them. A TMZ report put weight behind Acho’s theory. According to the gossip column, a tipster reached out to them requesting payment in exchange for information on Vrabel and Russini.
The anonymous tipster was not from a known paparazzi or photo agency, and requested an unspecified sum in the ‘four figures‘.

Emmanuel Acho sees himself as the “foremost expert” on the Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini situation
The Vrabel-Russini scandal has hit the world of sports journalism hard, raising questions about the journalistic integrity of reporters. Former NFL MVP Boomer Esiason was among the first to point fingers.

On the Boomer & Gio show, Esiason said,
We’d all be saying, ‘Ah, there goes his journalistic integrity out the window.’ You know what I mean? And that’s really what this is all about.
Veteran football expert Dan La Betard, who has worked with Russini, claimed that he’s uncomfortable talking about the situation as she’s under investigation.
I’m really uncomfortable with all of this and sort of the dirtiness of what my profession has become.
Le Batard said on his show
Despite all that chatter, Acho believes that he is the foremost expert on the matter.
As the foremost expert on this topic, let’s just take the sting out. Beat them to the punchline. As the foremost expert on this topic, here’s what nobody’s talking about regarding Russini and Vrabel, somebody hired a private investigator.

Of course, football fans are aware of the reason why Acho is no longer part of any major TV network. After accusations of having inappropriate relations with coworker Joy Taylor came to light, the former NFL pass rusher was let go from FOX Sports. After leaving the channel, Acho started Speakeasy with retired NFL RB LeSean McCoy.
