Jon Jones is the greatest ever to step inside the octagon, and he does whatever he wants to do always. Currently, the fighter is doing everything except fighting the interim champion Tom Aspinall in a title unification bout. As expected, this has attracted a variety of criticism towards the fighter, but that doesn’t really bother the heavyweight champion.
Currently, Jones was seen hanging out with viral internet sensation Hasbulla, creating buzz among fans across social media platforms. In the video, both Jones and Hasbulla were seen sharing snacks with each other, enjoying light-hearted moments in friendly company. The Dagestani native is extremely famous in the MMA community due to funny videos and his connection with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s team.

Hasbulla is often seen at the pound-for-pound number one Islam Makhachev’s fights while he collaborates with many other fighters. He has made some hilarious videos with the likes of Alexander Volkanovski, Sean O’Malley, Mike Tyson, etc. Due to his connection, it’s easy for him to get in contact with someone like Jon Jones for a video.
Jones, meanwhile, seems to be enjoying himself while filming ALF Reality, Russia’s version of TUF, alongside UFC veteran Nate Diaz. The two stars were recently spotted filming an episode in Thailand and went viral discussing Islam Makhachev‘s impressive dominance. Jones was later seen riding a scooter, allegedly intoxicated, causing buzz across social media platforms.
Jones has always shown deep insecurity about his legacy, often reacting defensively when his status or accomplishments are questioned publicly. During Khabib Nurmagomedov’s retirement, Jones clashed with fans online, disputing their claims that ‘The Eagle’ deserved the pound-for-pound top spot. Jones’ need for validation resurfaced when he petitioned to overturn his disqualification loss, citing recent reconsideration of the outdated 12-6 rule.
Jon Jones addresses ‘duck’ allegations
Last year, Jon Jones dedicated his focus to preparing for a legacy bout against UFC heavyweight legend Stipe Miocic. He convincingly won that fight, silencing doubts, then curiously avoided any immediate plans to face rising contender Tom Aspinall. Later, Jones demanded an astonishing thirty million dollars and a six-month preparation period before agreeing to fight the UK native.

Aspinall repeatedly stated he had already agreed to the fight, but the hold-up continues to come entirely from Jones’ side. The ongoing delays and vague responses have frustrated fans, many accusing Jones of ducking a showdown with the interim champion. During a recent Instagram Live, Jones responded directly to comments, delivering a sharp and confident rebuttal to his critics.
I’ve got people in the chat calling me a ‘duck.’ Meanwhile, I’m living my absolute best life. I don’t know if it’s considered ducking when you’re living good. I don’t think it works like that.

Recently, Aspinall’s father publicly questioned Jon Jones’ legitimacy as champion, accusing him of stalling and holding up the heavyweight division. Curtis Blaydes also voiced frustration, urging UFC executives to strip Jones due to his inactivity from his championship status. After Islam Makhachev’s stripping, fans argue Jones receives preferential treatment, creating double standards in how champions are managed.
Why is Jon Jones avoiding Tom Aspinall?
Jon Jones is currently 37 years old and looking forward to his career after retiring from the professional fighting business completely. Unlike other fighters who struggle to leave the sport, Jones plans to exit cleanly, and at the top. He is smart and wants to leave without suffering any serious injuries, long-term damage, or symptoms related to CTE.

‘Bones’ has done a lot for UFC and wants hefty compensation to fight the dangerous and young contender Tom Aspinall. Despite his elite skills, Jones knows Aspinall is explosive, fast, and powerful enough to end fights brutally at any moment. Aspinall’s knockout power could ruin Jones’ legacy, which is why the veteran is thinking carefully before signing the fight contract.
