Hailey Welch, popularly known as the ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl got a rather unexpected invitation previous Thursday. She went viral for participating at the ceremonial toss prior to the Mets game against the Oakland Athletics at Citi Field. The 22-year-old was a rather surprising choice for the pitch.

Welch, along with one of her friends, was a part of the first pitch at the game. Welch was the one who threw the ball towards the home plate and her friend caught it. She followed it with a chest bump with her friend as the crowd cheered on. The Tennessee native had some time to chat with the fans before the pitch. Although not everybody present knew about her, those who did, enjoyed her presence.

Hailey Welch rose to fame for her response during an interview for the Tim & Dee channel on YouTube. She gained quick followers because of the humor in her answer which was given in all sincerity and spontaneity. The interview led her to have the nickname, “Hawk Tuah Girl”.

As of late, the recent choices of the Mets first pitch have raised quite some eyebrows. This match was no different. The internet called out on Hailey Welch’s inclusion that drew skepticism around the baseball community.

Hailey Welch potentially entering the MMA ring

Hailey Welch recently posted a clip on Instagram where she can be seen sparring and kicking her opponent to the ground. At the end of the video, she even called out MMA star Jon Jones asking his whereabouts in an intimidating manner. She felt like a brand-new woman after having trained. Welch captioned the video asking Dana White to sign her up.

The sudden interest in fighting might have come after getting called out for a boxing match by influencer Astrid Wett. The OnlyFans star posted a video on X saying that their fight would ‘break the internet’. Wett has previously participated in influencer boxing matches and won all three of them. She claimed that it would be the biggest influencer fight ever.

Hailey Welch has been enjoying her fame by attending several high profile events. One of which was Jake Paul‘s fight against Mike Perry at the Amalie Arena. Her suggestion to join UFC might have also been inspired by the aforementioned bout.
