“He and his team cut their wristbands off and got them to people on the outside,” Ottman Azaitar cut from UFC 257 for breaching security protocols
The German-Morroco MMA fighter Ottman Azaitar competes in the UFC Lightweight division and he was booked to face Matt Frevola at UFC 257. But Azaitar is cut from UFC 257 due to breaching security protocols.
After the official weigh-in Dana White made a statement on Ottman Azaitar’s release, White says, “He and his team cut their wristbands off and got them to people on the outside,”
“This guy got inside the bubble, went in through a room, shimmied down four balconies, went in through Azaitar’s balcony, and dropped off a bag of we don’t know what.”
“Then he changed his clothes and went back outside of the bubble. We got everything on camera, we saw the whole thing, and how it all went down, pulled his fight and cut him.”
Dana White confirms that Azaitar is removed from the safety bubble
Ottman Azaitar holds an undefeated record (13-0) in MMA he is one of those fighters who have never lost a single fight. This mistake caused him a huge loss because he is removed from one of the highly watched pay-per-view of UFC.
Due to breaching the security protocol, he has been removed from UFC Fight Island’s biosecurity bubble and further actions are to be taken on him. If he is found smuggling someone that too in a country like Dubai he’ll surely get himself into serious trouble.
Azaitar was coming in this fight with two consecutive wins but this is a serious issue that can even lead to imprisonment for him. The situation will be cleared in the upcoming days.
