UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping has officially led his fans to how the main event of UFC 274 will end on his note, but this fight has such an unpredictable temperament on paper that it’s difficult to make a strong prediction. UFC 274’s main event involves a title fight between the reigning, defending UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira and former interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje.
Oliveira, a grappling specialist with a diverse striking arsenal is on a 10 fight winning streak which includes winning the title and having defended it once as well. Gaethje on the other hand is a technical brawler with vicious knockout power and amazing anti-wrestling skills to keep the fight away from the ground and continue destroying his opponents on the feet.
Both Oliveira and Gaethje have impressive numbers added to their legacy. Gaethje was undefeated in his first 18 fights and was the WSOF lightweight champion before coming into the UFC after that Gaethje went on to have 10 post-fight bonuses amongst all his 9 UFC fights. Oliveira on the other hand has the record for most finishes in UFC history and most submission wins in UFC history.

On the BT Sports Preview Show, Bisping gave his prediction for the main event clash between Gaethje and Oliveira. The other fights that were previewed and are on the UFC 274 main card are a title fight rematch between women’s strawweight champion Rose Namajunas and former champion Carla Esparza, and a lightweight clash between Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson.
“On the feet, Oliveira has shown that he can handle himself,” Bisping said “Of course, the big question is can he take the power from Justin Gaethje?… The man is on a 10-fight win streak, and I believe as the fight goes on throughout five rounds, I believe Oliveira can take Justin Gaethje down if he wears him down on the feet a little bit. And again, it all comes back to that jiu-jitsu ability, as well. So, I’m going to say– and it’s not a confident pick– but I’m going to say Charles Oliveira, and he gets another submission in the later rounds, four and five,” Bisping concluded.
