Los Angeles Lakers’ newest acquisition Dennis Schroder reveals and emphasizes the impact of veteran Chris Paul in his career. Schroder has been impressive in every season after his slow start being picked in the NBA Draft in 2013 by Atlanta Hawks. His growth was seen is the last season where he was voted second in the Sixth Man of the Year. Playing this season, with Lakers’ he has done well in the pre-season games, helping them take a clean sweep 4-0.
Schroder played with Chris Paul in Oklahoma City Thunder. Where the former suggests he has developed as a player as well as a person. Paul however, has moved his way to the Phoenix Suns in this off-season. Schroder’s previous season made his reach new heights in his career. He said, “Leadership, how he talks to teammates, what he brings to the table every game.”
“He’s 35 years old but he took care of his body. He’s just a great guy and top five of all-time point guards,” he said. Schroder concluded by saying, “He’s up there. He’s a great person, his family is nice. I learned a lot from him.”
Talking about the importance of Dennis Schroder in the LA Lakers, it can be massive. With Dwight Howard and Rajon Rondo both making their way out of the defending champions’ roster. They have their strength from the bench as well, if their marquee duo of Lebron James and Anthony Davis fail to deliver in any game.
Unfortunately, Schroder had an early night against the Suns as he sprained his left ankle. As of now, there is no official news about his injury, but it doesn’t look too serious.
