“He should have bowled closer to the stumps”- Famous Cricket Expert feels Mankad attempt from Harshal Patel wasn’t predetermined
But before this last run was scored, there was plenty of drama that unfolded in the middle.

The IPL 2023 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Monday, went down the wire with both teams dominating the opposition bowlers. While RCB posted a massive 212/2 on the board in their designated 20 overs, LSG chased down the total with one wicket to spare. Ravi Bishnoi and Avesh Khan showed great presence of mind to run a bye on the last ball and win the game for LSG.
But before this last run was scored, there was plenty of drama that unfolded in the middle. The LSG inning was an absolute rollercoaster with RCB striking at regular intervals. Lucknow were reduced to 23/3 in the first four overs. But Marcus Stoinis pulled the team back in the chase with a 30-ball 65. RCB once again crawled back with a couple of wickets in quick succession.
Stoinis and KL Rahul fell one after the other to leave the team stranded. However, Nicholas Pooran put on a run fest, scoring 62 runs off just 19 deliveries to keep LSG in the hunt. RCB, meanwhile, kept believing they could win it and took the game till the last ball. The Faf du Plessis-led team tried to everything to its disposal, even running out the non-striker.

It is tough to pull it off for a pacer

Harshal Patel tried running Ravi Bishnoi out when one run was required off the last delivery. However, he could not pull it off and the on-field umpire declared it a dead ball. With Patel failing, many mocked the RCB pacer and compared him to R Ashwin. However, a senior journalist came to Harshal’s defence stating the possible reasons behind this missed chance.
The journalist opined that as Harshal is pacer, such a mode of dismissal is tough to pull it off for him. “There is a difference in terms of momentum. A spinner basically walks to the crease. And if you’re bowling from a wider angle, it is tougher,” tweeted the journalist.
