Lionel Messi has been facing a lot of criticism as he has not been able to deliver an impactful performance for Paris Saint Germain in the Ligue as he currently has only one goal in 11 matches.
The Argentinean seven times Ballon D’or winner however has shown glimpses of what he is capable of in the Champions League where he has scored 5 goals in 5 matches for the French club.
Karim Benzema, the Real Madrid maestro who has been in an electric from this season has spoken up about the condition of Lionel Messi in an interview with Telefoot.
Benzema said, “How won’t he succeed? It is just a period of adaptation, because he is not scoring a lot of goals, but watch what he does on the pitch.”
“In any case you cannot criticise a player like that, he who criticises Messi, knows nothing about football in fact!”
Lionel Messi has not been able to step on the field after the new year as he was affected with Covid 19. However, the Argentine is back and is healthy to start against Reims in PSG’s 22 match of Ligue 1.
