Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko has teased an announcement regarding their reserve driver Liam Lawson. The 22-year-old’s contract with the team lets him look for other opportunities if he’s not given a seat within the team for the 2025 season. However, rumors suggested that Lawson would possibly drive alongside Yuki Tsunoda in VCARB replacing Daniel Ricciardo.
When asked about the second seat at RB, Helmut Marko said that the team had already made plans about it. He mentioned that by the Singapore GP, which is just one week away, they will have a clear and definite plan regarding their lineup. However, Marko had earlier mentioned that Liam Lawson would be in one of Red Bull’s cars.

Marko mentioned that while things will become clearer, the final decision may not be made immediately. The deadline for this decision is the Azerbaijan GP, which took place on Sunday (September 15).

Daniel Ricciardo breaks silence on his future with Red Bull
Daniel Ricciardo stated that only time will reveal what happens next regarding the second seat at Red Bull. He explained that it’s a tricky situation and he needs to take advantage of any opportunities that come his way.
On the other hand, he said it was important to stay patient and be ready for unexpected events. Ricciardo also acknowledged that he is at risk of being replaced by Liam Lawson for the next season.
