Barcelona appoints Henrik Larsson as the assistant coach under Ronald Koeman, according to reports.
Barcelona confirmed Koeman as the new club manager on Wednesday morning. The former Everton manager is returning to the club where he achieved tremendous success as a player.

The Dutchman left his role as Netherlands manager to succeed Quique Setien at the Nou Camp on wednesday.
Koeman spent six years with the Catalan club as a player. Koeman won four La Liga titles during his stay in Barcelona. The Dutch international also scored the winning goal in the 1992 European Cup final against Sampdoria at Wembley.
Koeman and Larsson both have playing careers that featured spells at the Nou Camp. But they were also team-mates at Feyenoord between 1995 and 1997 when the Dutchman was at the end of his career.

After leaving Celtic in 2004, Larsson joined Barca. Barça from 2004 through to 2006, winning two league titles. The former Barca striker scored 19 goals in 59 games over the next two seasons. Larsson remains a popular figure with fans of the Catalan club. Like Koeman, he played a decisive role in Barcelona winning the Champions League. The Celtic legend came off the bench in the 2006 European Cup final against Arsenal and set up Barca’s goals.
The 48-year old has enjoyed managerial stints in his native Sweden with Helsinborg Falkenberg and Landskrona BoIS . Larsson was in charge of Helsinborg for two spells, most recently up until 2019. The former Barca striker could act as a bridge to the Barcelona squad for Koeman. Larsson has been a former teammate of Lionel Messi.
