The UFC 300 PPV event featured some of the greatest matchups in recent memory and had numerous amazing moments. On their YouTube channel, Pound 4 Pound, Henry Cejudo and Kamaru Usman recently posted a reaction video of the entire card. They also discussed Aljamain Sterling‘s featherweight debut versus Calvin Kattar.
While talking about Aljamain Sterling‘s dominant victory at UFC 300, Henry Cejudo shed light on the fighters’ incredible wrestling and ground control. Triple C also mentioned the surprising body slam that Sterling landed on Kattar. Cejudo also joked about WWE CCO Triple H asking Aljo to sign the wrestling promotion.
Actually take him down and was actually controlled him …look at that damn pile driver. I mean Triple H might take a fighter to the WWE.Henry Cejudo via Pound 4 Pound podcast
At 135 pounds, Sterling appeared noticeably larger, and he used that to fight and exhaust Kattar for three rounds. The fighter was heavily criticized for his strategy even though he ultimately prevailed by unanimous decision.
Ahead of the fight, Sterling made it clear that he wanted to best Kattar and call out for a featherweight title shot. However, the fighter didn’t even get the opportunity for an octagon interview after the fight. Many fans believed that the lack of intensity in his fight was the reason for the UFC not giving him the mic.
Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo discuss Aljamain Sterling’s next challenge against Brian Ortega
Right after his performance at UFC 300, Aljamain Sterling realized that he was not getting a title shot that easily. The ‘Funkmaster’ took this opportunity to call out the ‘next best guy’ Brian Ortega during the press conference.
Ortega didn’t take much time to respond and tweeted that his manager would take care of everything. Henry Cejudo and Kamaru Usman in their video, liked the idea of Sterling calling out Ortega.
It's a good callout because Brian Ortega is a guy that likes to engage in a grappling. Of course it's a dangerous fight because he's very very Jiu-Jitsu savvy.Kamaru Usman via Pound 4 Pound podcast
T-City has participated in a few thrilling bouts within the featherweight class as a former title contender. Looking forward to his next title run, he won his last fight with Yair Rodriguez. With both Ortega and Sterling aiming for the UFC gold, it will be an interesting match-up for the fight fans.
