“Hey Scott, remember when your champ won a round against me? Oh yeah he didn’t” Ben Askern fires back at Scott Coker
The YouTube star Jake Paul has been calling out many UFC superstars after his second win in the professional boxing carrier. He even offered a huge amount of money to Conor McGregor to accept the fight against him but ‘The Notorious’ gave him no response.
Former UFC star Ben Askren accepted the fight call from Jake Paul and they both agreed to face each other in March 2021. Most of the people are considering this as an easy win for Jake as Askren is from a wrestling background he can defeat Jake in an MMA match but in boxing, the story will be different.
The Bellator CEO, Scott Coker also thinks the same. In his latest interview with MMA Junkie Coker says, “I already know who’s gonna win that one, Ben’s a wrestler. Let’s put it that way, right? So I think he gets knocked out in a boxing fight. But in an MMA fight, it’s a different story.”
Ben Askren gives a stiff reply to Scoot Cooker
By the time Ben Askren caught the wind of Scott Coker’s prediction he gives him a reply on Twitter. Askren says, “Hey, Scott Coker, remember when your welterweight champ won a round against me? Oh yeah, he didn’t,”
“How have you not got fired yet? You’re running Bellator into the ground.” He said this to referring to his unanimous decision win over Douglas Lima in 2012. Askern is a former Bellator champion who fought for the promotion long before Scott Coker’s arrival.
After accepting the fight challenge from Jake Paul, Askren says “It’s a pretty simple choice. I’m gonna make a whole bunch of money to beat up a guy who is pretending to be an athlete because, at the end of the day, that’s what you’re doing.”
“And I know you may think that I do not have too many stand-up skills, but also at the end of the day, I don’t really need to. I’m a world-class athlete, I’ve won NCAA titles, I’ve been to the Olympics, I’ve won belts in multiple mixed martial arts organizations, and quite frankly I am impressed that you’ve deluded yourself into thinking you are actually a fighter – that you are really tough, that you can really box. It’s quite impressive.”
