Holger Rune’s mother, and manager Aneke Rune has always been an open smoker. She has often been seen smoking cigarettes on camera. This time, she was caught vaping during her son’s game at the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters.
Holger Rune was up against Grigor Dimitrov in the Round Of 16 at the Masters 1000. It was the Dane’s second match of the day, and a rather interesting one. With both players in form, the match took a deep run as both players fought till the end. The whole stadium was on their feet, as the tension got tighter, with the camera capturing those tense faces and a little more.
As the camera went over Rune’s box, it captured Aneke Rune vaping. Rune’s mother was spotted with a vape in her hand as she attempted to subtly release the smoke. She tried to hide her face, but unfortunately, the world saw the vape in her hands.
This is not the first time that she was caught smoking during her son’s game. Last year at Wimbledon, she had stepped out of the stadium in between her son’s game to take a few puffs. Unable to withstand the pressure of the game, she had to go out and smoke.
Holger Rune’s mother, Aneke Rune, promised to quit smoking if her son won a Grand Slam
Aneke Rune, the mother and manager of Holger Rune is also complained by many fans of being spotted with either a vape or a cigarette. She was even caught doing the same on the Netflix show BreakPoint.
However, she had once revealed that she had promised her son that she would quit smoking if he was the junior No.1. Rune did become No.1, but his mother stretched out the promise that he should win a junior Grand Slam.
The Dane did that also, and now, his mother has promised to quit if he won a Grand Slam. Till now, Rune has not even come close to winning a Slam. His best run has been till the quarter-finals.
When you win a Grand Slam, I would stop.' So let's see.'were Aneke Rune’s recent words on Craig Shapiro’s podcast
He has entered the last 8 in two editions of the French Open. With another French Open coming up, the Dane would hope to go all the way and win his maiden slam.
