The Dallas Mavericks can’t avoid the Luka Doncic trade, and, honestly, the team is making matters worse.
In a video posted on Thursday, Mavericks owner Patrick Dumont discussed the deal, which enraged fans even more. Not only NBA fans but also famous Hollywood personality Ben Stiller chimed in on this ongoing topic.

During an interview, Dumont made numerous surprising statements on the team’s choice to trade Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. When asked about the choice to move the 26-year-old sensation, he couldn’t contain himself. Dumont indicated that the Doncic move was intended to help the Mavs develop in the future.

So tough decisions are never easy and part of leadership is looking at risk and looking at all the factors of a decision and being willing to act at that time. And look to the long term and not only think about the short term or how it may be received immediately.

In addition, Stiller seemed to be baffled by Dumont’s remarks and took to X to voice his annoyance. Ben Stiller wrote on X, “What is cognitive dissonance?” The ownership of the Mavs continue to ruin their reputation in the general public with such statements.

Dumont subsequently stated that the Mavericks made certain transactions before the 2024 trade deadline that catapulted them into the NBA Finals but did not win. Also, it forced them to consider how to improve. The discussion involved trading the team’s top players. He stated that the choice was made with the future in mind and that the squad’s lineup has improved.

Luka Doncic makes NBA history in a recent Lakers game

Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers lost 126-106 to the Milwaukee Bucks. Luka Doncic created some franchise history along the way. Doncic scored 45 points on 14-of-27 shooting (7-of-13 from three-point range) and had 11 rebounds. With this, he became only the third player in the Lakers franchise to have at least 45 points, 10 rebounds, and five three-pointers in one game.

The other two players to accomplish this feat are Doncic’s current teammate, LeBron James, and the late Kobe Bryant, who achieved it three times during their 20-year careers in Los Angeles. While Doncic was in charge of the Lakers’ offense without James, the Bucks employed a well-balanced attack to defeat Los Angeles.

Bucks stars Giannis Antetokounmpo (24 points), Brook Lopez (23), Damian Lillard (22), and Kevin Porter Jr. (22) all scored at least 22 points in the Bucks’ victory. Nevertheless, the Lakers remain in a comfortable position in the Western Conference, and looks set for playoffs.

Luka Doncic breaks silence regarding availability for Nuggets game

After LeBron James suffered a groin injury, the Lakers became a completely different team. They are down to three straight games, the last two without James. Notably, their five-time All-Star Luka Doncic wasn’t able to carry them to victory. However, Doncic shared his views on his next matchup against the Denver Nuggets.

We’ll see.

Luka Doncic said after the game

It is still unsure whether Doncic will play in Friday’s game against the Nuggets. After a long losing run to the Nuggets, Doncic-led Lakers eventually defeated their rivals this year. However, the Lakers could struggle without Doncic in the next game.

The Nuggets are led by three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic. Historically, Jokic has always played dominantly against the Lakers. As such, the decorated team in LA will almost surely need Doncic to suit up to compete versus this third-place Nuggets team.
