“Hope next year will bring joy,” says Novak Djokovic after a lukewarm finish to 2020
Novak Djokovic
Novak Djokovic is arguably the greatest player of all time. Currently, the Serb is in contention with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal for the title of ‘GOAT.’ Further, Nole stands firm with his 17 Major titles while his biggest rivals have 20 apiece. At 33, Djokovic is the youngest of the trio and is one of the most dominant forces on the ATP Tour.
In 2020, he claimed four titles and scored a win-loss record of 41-5 which adds up to a total of 89.1% win rate. However, it was the latter half of the year wherein he suffered unexpected defeats. These came about at the Nitto ATP Finals in the semis and at Vienna Open in the quarter-finals.
Even so, Djokovic is one to look ahead and work towards building a better tomorrow, for himself and for others around him. For instance, the World No.1 has been a long-standing proponent for his homeland of Serbia. He took to twitter to showcase its beauty whilst wishing the best to everyone.
Novak’s kind message for the masses
On Twitter, Nole decided to share a video of the first snow that he experienced in his home country. Along with this, he passed along his greetings to everyone.
The tennis ace is currently spending time with his family. Citing the comfort he is in by being around his close ones, Nole wrote, “Blessed to experience first snow in Serbian mountains. I’m sending everyone best wishes, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year. I hope next year will bring joy, happiness, love, many blessings to everyone.”
Moreover, the Serbian will next be seen in action at the ATP Cup. From here, he’ll move on to defend his title at the Australian Open, which starts from 8 February 2021.
