Leon Edwards vs Khamzat Chimaev, one of the most anticipated fights of the year, had been scheduled for UFC Fight Night on the 19th of December. But, due to Leon contracting COVID-19, the fight had to be scrapped from the UFC Fight Night Card. Sources say that the UFC is currently planning to re-book it for a later date.

In the wake of this Khamzat posted a message wishing Leon well.

Will Khamzat look for another opponent in the meantime?

“Fast recovery and hope see you soon. @Leon_edwardsmma“, Khamzat tweeted.

The Coronavirus seems to have hit Leon really hard, as Brett Okamoto of ESPN recently tweeted that the Brit had lost 12 pounds in 4 days due to the virus. However, it seems Leon would be up and running as early as possible. Khamzat, on the other hand, will have to wait, as there is a probable re-booking of the fight in January. But, ‘the Borz’ is a kind of guy who wouldn’t mind fighting even twice in a day. So, there is also a possibility that the Swede might fight someone else in the time being.

What do you make of this? Should Khamzat find another opponent in the meantime? Or would he be better off waiting?
