It did not take long for Dak Prescott’s teammates to dream of early Christmas presents after the Dallas Cowboys extended his contract for the next four years. Prescott revealed they expect the finest Rolex he can afford.

The Athletic’s Jon Machota spoke with Prescott moments after the Cowboys secured their first win of the season, defeating the Cleveland Browns 33-17. Prescott revealed that when the Cowboys announced his four-year $240 million deal, some of his teammates texted him with their wrist sizes.

They demanded Rolex or Audemars Piguet watches as presents for his extension. The 30-year-old can definitely afford it because he is now the highest-paid player in NFL history, earning $60 million annually.

Dak Prescott wants to keep his end of the deal and win the Super Bowl

With massive money come big expectations, and there’s hardly anyone better aware of that fact than Dak Prescott. The Cowboys are the wealthiest sports organization in the world, and with it comes extensive scrutiny, even for a slight lack of judgment.

On the bright side, fans will back off from their chants of paying the players. They can save that for next year when Micah Parsons time comes, and if he can win a medal or two before that, then it would be the icing on the cake.

The 3x Pro Bowler is glad that money is in the bank, but knows better than any other that he now has to deliver.

I just want to hold up my end of the deal and deliver for him [Jerry Jones]. That's my only motivation to hold up my part of this deal and just deliver that. That's what is at the forefront of my mind, not the money. It's about holding up my end of the deal and it's winning, and I want to do it here.

They certainly started in the right manner on Sunday. Dak Prescott finished with 19 of 32 for 179 yards and a touchdown. Running back Ezekiel Elliott, who played his first NFL game in a Cowboys jersey after a one-season gap, racked up 10 carries for 40 yards and 1 rushing touchdown.

Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who signed a four-year $136 million deal last month, caught 5 catches for 61 yards, and veteran Brandin Cooks had 4 for 40 yards and 1 touchdown. Up next, they will host the NFC rivals, the New Orleans Saints, at Arlington in week 2 while the Browns fly down to South Beach and play against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
