Most recently, the Detroit Pistons played against the Orlando Magic in the NBA. Both teams were having a competitive matchup. However, the Pistons’ star Jaden Ivey‘s night was turned short after he suffered a horrific injury during the game. With 10:07 left in the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s home game against the Orlando Magic, Ivey had to leave the game.
This season, Ivey has been among Piston’s best players. Ivey, a third-year guard, gripped his lower left leg as he writhed in agony on the court after guard Cole Anthony crashed into his legs while diving for a lost ball. Players and staff from both teams eventually gathered around him, and he was eventually carried off the floor on a stretcher.
The action was abruptly cut short as Ivey was surrounded by players while trainers cared for him. According to an additional replay, Ivey’s ankle was bent several degrees incorrectly. Anthony was crying as he watched Ivey receive treatment, making it a gloomy scene. As Ivey was wheeled off with a Gatorade towel wrapped around his left leg, the audience yelled his last name and gave him several applause.

Before the injury, the third-year guard was having a great offensive night as the Pistons attempted to withstand a Magic comeback in the second half. He scored 22 points on 8-for-11 shooting and 5-for-6 from three. With 17.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and four assists, Ivey leads the team in scoring and shoots 39.2% from three. Now, fans will have to wait for an injury update regarding their star man.
Pistons HC J.B. Bickerstaff opened up on Jaden Ivey’s injury
After the game, Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff discussed the injury’s effect on the squad. However, he did not provide any details about Jaden Ivey’s injury as of yet. It was mainly because the guard will first be assessed by the Pistons’ medical department before providing any injury update. This was according to Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press.
Cade on Ivey: "It’s tough on the whole group, to see him hurting like that is tough on us. He’s built for it, he’s going to shake back knowing him. He’s going to work his tail off and be better than ever when he gets back. It’s tough for sure."

Before Wednesday, Ivey posted career highs in almost every category, including 3-point percentage (39.2%), field-goal percentage (45.3%), steals (0.9), rebounds (4.2%), and points (17.4 a game). With a record of 14-18 going into Wednesday’s game, the Pistons had already tied the win total from the previous season, largely due to that performance.
